Kara, Alan and Kaitlyn
Yesterday morning at 8:19am, Kara gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She entered the world earlier than expected, weighing in at 3lb 11oz. She will probably be in the NICU for a while, so prayers are needed for her and her parents.
Here is the email Kara sent this morning:
Kaitlyn made her grand entry Sunday at 8:19 a.m. I woke up at 6:30 having contractions and everything moved quickly. She came in at 3 pounds, 11.5 ounces and 17 inches long. The doctors tell us that she is healthy, so all she needs to do is get fat! We're not sure when we'll be able to take her home. The nurse told us a good rule of thumb is her original due date, which was April 19, but that it all depends on which doctor makes the decision. The neonatologist here yesterday said it could be three to four weeks. They have her on an IV and oxygen, although they say she barely needs the oxygen.
We thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers. She is an amazing, tiny miracle!
